Dhaka, Nov 12 (V7N) — The Chamber Court has stayed the High Court's bail granted to former Narayanganj City Corporation Mayor Selina Hayat Ivy in five cases, including the murder of garment worker Minarul during the anti-discrimination student-public movement. The order was given by Appellate Division Chamber Justice Md. Rezaul Haque on Wednesday.

Earlier, on November 9, a High Court Division Bench of Justice ASM Abdul Mobin and Justice Md. Sagir Hossain had declared Ivy's bail application rule absolute and granted bail.

Following this, the state filed an application seeking a stay of the High Court order. Additional Attorney General Barrister Anik R. Haque represented the state, while Barrister Sara Hossain appeared for Ivy.

Ivy was arrested on May 9 from her home in Deobhog, Narayanganj, in connection with three murder cases and two attempted murder cases filed over the student-public movement against discrimination.
