Dhaka, Dec 03 (V7N) – BNP leader Fazlur Rahman has submitted an unconditional written apology to the International Crimes Tribunal in a contempt of court case. A hearing on the matter has been scheduled for Monday, December 8.
The information was provided by Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Tajul Islam at a press briefing at the tribunal premises on Wednesday (December 3).
Earlier, on November 26, Fazlur Rahman was charged with contempt of court for making negative remarks about the tribunal. Following this, on November 30, the tribunal directed him to appear in person on December 8 to explain his comments.
The complaint against him stated that Fazlur Rahman, during a talk show, suggested that the tribunal’s formation process undermined its ability to conduct trials and questioned the legitimacy of those conducting the trials.
