A murder case has been filed against 321 individuals, including the former State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief, Enamur Rahman, in connection with the death of a student on August 5 in Savar.
The case was lodged on Monday by Md Alamgir, the father of Sajjad Hossain, the deceased student. Sajjad was a student at Sonargaon Polytechnic Institute in Narayanganj and resided with his family in South Aukpara, Savar. Originally from Paschim Patwari Para, Ward No 10, under Syedpur Municipality in Nilphamari, Sajjad had gone to the Savar bus stand area on August 5 to purchase some items when he was shot during an agitation in the area. He was subsequently taken to Enam Medical College Hospital in Savar, where he passed away on August 6.
Shah Zaman, the officer-in-charge (OC) of Savar Model Police Station, confirmed the filing of the murder case and stated, "A murder case has been lodged in view of the complaint. Further legal action will be taken after investigations."
Other prominent individuals named in the case include the General Secretary of the Savar Upazila Awami League and former upazila chairman, Manjurul Alam Rajib, as well as his younger brother, Fakhrul Alam Samar.
