Dhaka, Oct 06 (V7N): The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against 24 individuals, including former Director General of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Mohammad Liaquat Ali Lucky, and administration director Jahangir Hossain Chowdhury, over charges of recruitment fraud.

ACC Special Branch Deputy Director Sumitra Sen lodged the case today, confirming the information to The Business Standard. According to the ACC's investigation, Liaquat and Jahangir tampered with recruitment exam mark sheets, resulting in the unlawful appointment of 23 candidates to 10 positions at the academy.

The investigation revealed that these appointees have since withdrawn Tk8.28 crore in government salaries. The accused face charges of embezzling government funds under several sections of the Penal Code, 1860, and the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1947.
