Dhaka, Oct 15 (V7N): Law Adviser Dr. Asif Nazrul announced that journalists linked to the killings during the anti-discrimination student movement will be prosecuted in the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT).

During a press briefing on Tuesday, following an inspection of the tribunal's main building renovations, Dr. Nazrul stated, "The prosecution will thoroughly examine the cases against the journalists and ensure proper legal proceedings. If found guilty, they will face prosecution, but the trial will be conducted fairly."

He reaffirmed the government's commitment to delivering justice for the murders and acts of genocide associated with the student-led movement.

Dr. Nazrul also expressed optimism about the tribunal’s progress, stating, "The renovation is moving quickly, and we anticipate commencing trials in the main building from November 1."

Additionally, Chief Prosecutor Md. Tajul Islam announced a reception for the tribunal's judges on Wednesday, and confirmed that trial proceedings, led by Chairman Justice Md. Golam Mortuza Mojumdar, would begin on Thursday with a three-judge bench.
