The Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) branch has been looking into a complaint that the US embassy in Dhaka submitted about accusations of human trafficking against five Bangladeshis.

Inspector (Investigation) Shahanur Rahman of the Gulshan police station informed the journalist that on February 10, a case was filed with the police station by Michael Lee, the security attaché of the US Embassy in Dhaka, accusing Mofizur Rahman, Mohammad Nur Alam, Ashraful Alam Bhuiyan, Mohammed Zaman, and one Vasani.

He said that because of the case's significance, the CTTC section received it from the Gulshan police station.

Inspector Shahanur said that Mofizur Rahman and Ashraful Alam Bhuiyan were taken into custody by Gulshan police on the same day.

The officer said, "We have already given them over to the CTTC unit."
