Chittagong, Nov 30 (V7N) – Police have arrested 39 individuals in connection with clashes that erupted following the denial of bail to Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, the spokesperson for the Bangladesh Sommilito Sanatani Jagaran Jote.

The arrests were confirmed on Friday by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP), Kazi Tarek Aziz.

Three cases have been filed regarding the clashes, which involved supporters of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) in the court area and the nearby Kotwali police station.

The charges against the arrested individuals include assaulting police officers, vandalizing vehicles, and obstructing government duties. Some of the suspects were identified through photos shared on social media and CCTV footage from the scene of the incident.

Kotwali police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Karim confirmed that three cases have been registered concerning the events that transpired on Tuesday, during Chinmoy Krishna Das’s court appearance and the subsequent denial of his bail.
