Rajshahi, Dec 17 (V7N)- The much-anticipated Rajshahi Divisional Book Fair will commence on December 18 at the Rajshahi Collectorate ground, continuing for seven days until December 26. Organized by the National Book Center under the direction of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, the fair is managed by the Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner’s Office in collaboration with creative publishers.

The inaugural ceremony is scheduled for 4 pm on December 18, while the closing ceremony will take place on December 25 at 6 pm. According to the organizers' press release, the fair will remain open daily from 3 pm to 8 pm, with extended hours on weekends, starting at 11 am and closing at 8:30 pm.

Highlights of the Book Fair

  • Stalls:

    • 73 stalls for Dhaka-based publishers.
    • 2 stalls for local Rajshahi publishers.
    • 8 stalls for government institutions.
    • Special stalls for law and order, information centers, medical teams, fire services, media, anti-discrimination student movements, women entrepreneurs, and food vendors.
  • Cultural Events and Programs:
    Daily cultural performances will feature artists from the Shilpakala Academy across eight districts of the Rajshahi division. The unveiling of new book covers and topic-based intellectual discussions will enrich the event further.

  • Engaging Activities for All Ages:
    For children and teenagers, quizzes, drawing competitions, and other activities have been planned. Additionally, local poets, writers, and publishers will showcase and sell their works at the fair.

This year’s book fair promises a dynamic blend of literature, culture, and intellectual engagement, fostering an environment of learning and creativity for visitors of all ages.
