Jhalokathi, Jan 23, (V7N) - A painting exhibition and cycle rally were organized in Jhalokathi to celebrate "Youth Festival-2025" under the theme “Let’s Change the Country, Let’s Change the World.”

The art exhibition, featuring paintings by students on the "July Uprising-2024," was held at Collectorate School in the city at 12 p.m. on Wednesday. The exhibition was inaugurated by District Commissioner Ashrafur Rahman. The event was chaired by Additional District Commissioner Ruhul Amin, and other notable attendees included Civil Surgeon Dr. H. M. Zahirul Islam, Additional Superintendent of Police Muhitul Islam, and Executive Officer of the District Council Imran. The exhibition displayed numerous paintings, depicting various events of the July Uprising, including the portraits of martyrs like Abu Saeed and Mir Mugdho, created by the students of Collectorate School.

Earlier in the day, at 10 a.m., a cycle rally was organized as part of the Youth Festival to promote the idea of building a "New Bangladesh." The rally began from the District Commissioner’s office and toured the main streets of the city before returning to the starting point. The rally was inaugurated by District Commissioner Ashrafur Rahman, and students from various educational institutions participated. The rally was organized by the district administration with the support of the Bankers’ Association.

In his speech at the art exhibition, District Commissioner Ashrafur Rahman addressed the youth, saying, “The July Uprising occurred due to moral decay. If we can prevent such moral degradation, our dreams will be realized. Therefore, we must educate the younger generation in the values of morality.”
