Chattogram, Feb 11 (V7N) – Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) is set to launch a major road repair campaign to improve urban infrastructure and reduce public suffering. Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain has directed the immediate resumption of halted projects within three days and visible progress within three months.

During a meeting with CCC’s engineering department at Tiger Pass on Monday, the mayor stressed urgency in road repairs. "We must act swiftly to repair damaged roads and ensure sustainable solutions," he said. Main roads and alleyways will be prioritized for repairs.

To maintain quality and transparency, CCC will conduct regular monitoring of the repair activities. Negligence will not be tolerated, and contractors failing to meet deadlines will have their work orders canceled. Engineers failing in their duties will face disciplinary action.

Mayor Shahadat instructed officials to address manpower shortages by recruiting additional staff and procuring necessary equipment. He emphasized the use of high-quality materials to avoid temporary fixes. "Corruption in projects funded by taxpayers' money will not be tolerated," he warned.

To enhance road safety, CCC will install road signs and awareness messages at key locations to ensure the smooth movement of vehicles and pedestrians. Proper guidance will be followed to reduce traffic congestion and accidents.

The engineering department and other officials have pledged to implement the mayor's directives. Key attendees included CCC Chief Executive Officer Sheikh Mohammad Touhidul Islam, Secretary Md. Ashraful Amin, Project Director Md. Anisur Rahman, and Supervising Engineer Farhadul Alam.

With this initiative, CCC aims to improve road infrastructure, enhance mobility, and provide lasting relief to Chattogram residents.
