Madaripur, July 9 (V7N) - Various Islamist organizations have protested against derogatory comments made about the imams of the Madaripur Sadar Model Mosque. The protest was held on Tuesday, July 8, at a press conference organized by the Madaripur Imam-Muezzin Welfare Society. Leaders of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Islamic Movement of Bangladesh, and Bangladesh Khilafat Majlis attended the press briefing.

The speakers at the press conference alleged that, during an event on July 7 calling for the inauguration of the mosque, certain individuals made offensive remarks against the imams of the district's Model Mosque. They strongly condemned the incident, stating that such comments are not only a personal attack but also pose a threat to religious harmony and social peace.

The speakers further emphasized that imams are moral guides for society, and making public statements against them without any neutral investigation or Shari'ah basis is unacceptable. They demanded legal action against the individuals responsible for this defamatory incident in order to protect the dignity of the imams and to maintain peace in the community.

In addition, the speakers reiterated their demand for the swift inauguration of the mosque and called for maintaining political neutrality and religious discipline in its administration.
