Netrokona, Feb 18 (V7N): Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General and former MP, Professor Mia Golam Parwar, has accused Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of engaging in political maneuvering with the Indian government. Speaking at a workers’ conference in Netrokona on Saturday afternoon, he claimed that her recent statements in India were aimed at fueling communal tensions in Bangladesh.

Addressing party activists, Parwar alleged that recent student protests, which led to incidents of vandalism in 35 districts including Dhaka’s Dhanmondi area, were a reaction to government actions. He asserted that grievances over past political repression were driving ongoing unrest in various parts of the country.

Parwar emphasized the need for electoral reforms and called for elections to be conducted under a neutral Election Commission. He urged party leaders and activists to maintain discipline and help uphold law and order during this period.

The workers’ conference, held at Netrokona’s Moktarpara ground, was presided over by district Jamaat Ameer, Professor Maulana Sadek Ahmad Haris. Other speakers included Jamaat-e-Islami Central Council member and publicity secretary Advocate Matiur Rahman, Central Organizing Secretary and Mymensingh Regional Director Dr. Chamiul Haque Farooqui, Central Working Committee member Manjurul Islam Bhuiyan, and former district Jamaat leader Maulana Enamul Haque.

Earlier in the day, party activists from different upazilas joined the conference in processions.
