Rangamati, Mar 07 (V7N) - Police have recovered the body of an unidentified person from Kaptai Lake in the Barmachhari area of Shuvolong Union, under the jurisdiction of Barkal Police Station in Rangamati.

Locals spotted the body floating face down in the lake on Friday morning and promptly informed the authorities.

Confirming the incident, Kay Kislu, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Barkal Police Station, said, "We were notified by locals about the body. A police team, led by one of my inspectors and accompanied by local public representatives, has gone to the scene to recover it. We will have more details once they return."

The OC further added that a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

After retrieving the body, authorities confirmed that it belonged to a Bengali individual, but their identity remains unknown at this time.
