Rangamati, Mar 07 (V7N) - The Bangladesh Army's Kaukhali Camp under the Rangamati Sadar Zone has uncovered a secret hideout of UPDF (Main) armed terrorists in the Hazachari area of Kaukhali Ghagra Union in Rangamati. The discovery was made during a special operation conducted at 5:30 AM on Friday (March 7), based on intelligence reports, according to Rangamati Region sources.
During the raid, top UPDF (Main) terrorists managed to flee, sensing the army's presence. However, the army personnel later searched the hideout and recovered: A large stockpile of ammunition,Terrorist uniforms,Binoculars,Walkie-talkie sets,Computer hard disks,Extortion receipts and other documents
The army has intensified operations to capture the escaped UPDF (Main) terrorists, reinforcing vigilance and intelligence surveillance in the area. Officials emphasized that these efforts are part of ongoing operations aimed at curbing armed terrorism, extortion, and illegal activities in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT).
Security forces have reaffirmed their commitment to peace and stability, vowing to continue their counter-terrorism efforts in the region.
According to intelligence sources, UPDF (Main) and its support groups are attempting to distort facts and spread misinformation about the operation. Reports indicate that UPDF-linked social media accounts are circulating misleading content, including videos of children and women allegedly trying to retrieve seized documents and equipment by applying pressure tactics.
The security forces have urged local residents to remain vigilant and assist in maintaining peace and security. They have advised the public to report any suspicious activities or movements to the authorities immediately.
