Rajshahi, Mar 27 (V7N) – Two motorcyclists were killed in a collision with a train in the Belpukur Railgate area of Rajshahi on Wednesday evening.
"Two motorcyclists were killed after being hit by a train in Rajshahi. The incident took place in the Belpukur Railgate area on Wednesday (March 26) evening," a local police official confirmed.
The deceased have been identified as Mizanur (33), son of Abdur Razzak, and Zahurul (35), son of Solaiman, both residents of the Chandpur Bazar area of Natore Sadar Police Station.
"The deceased were identified as Mizanur (33), son of Abdur Razzak, of Chandpur Bazar area of Natore Sadar Police Station, and Zahurul (35), son of Solaiman, of the same area," a police report detailed.
The accident occurred at approximately 5:45 PM when a Banglabandha train, traveling from Panchagarh to Rajshahi, struck their motorcycle at the Belpukur Railgate.
"Rajshahi Railway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Faisal Bin Ahsan said that a Banglabandha train from Panchagarh to Rajshahi hit a motorcycle at Belpukur Railgate area around 5:45 pm. Mizanur and Zahurul died on the spot," OC Faisal Bin Ahsan stated.
Police are preparing to file a case of unnatural death in connection with the incident.
"The OC also said that preparations are underway to file a case of unnatural death in this incident at the police station. The body will be handed over to the family after the legal process is completed," OC Faisal Bin Ahsan confirmed.
