Mongla, Bagerhat  Apr 18 (V7N) - M. Palash Sharif, Bagerhat Correspondent: The Coast Guard has seized 31 kg of deer meat, 1 head and 4 legs during a raid in Mongla, Bagerhat. Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haq gave this information to reporters in a press release on Friday afternoon.

He said, based on a secret information, a special operation was conducted by the Coast Guard's Herbaria Station in the area adjacent to the Joymonirghol Silo Jetty in Mongla on Thursday afternoon. During the operation, 31 kg of deer meat, 1 head and 4 legs of a deer hunted from the Sundarbans were seized from an abandoned sack after searching the area. No one could be arrested as the deer hunter fled after sensing the presence of the Coast Guard.Later, the seized deer meat and other evidence were handed over to the Chandpai Range Forest Office for further legal action.
