Khagrachhari, April 21, (V7N)– Leaders and activists of Khagrachhari District Chhatra Dal formed a human chain protesting the murder of Zahidul Islam Parvez, a leader of the student organization and a student of the 223rd batch in the Textile Department of Prime Asia University.

The event, held in front of Khagrachhari Government College, was organized to demand exemplary punishment for those responsible for Parvez’s killing and to denounce what the speakers described as a growing authoritarian trend under the guise of student activism.

Presiding over the program was Ashiqur Rahman Al-Amin, Convener of the college unit, while District Chhatra Dal President Shahedul Hossain Sumon attended as the chief guest.

In his remarks, Sumon strongly criticized the anti-discrimination student movement, accusing it of fueling unrest and pushing the country toward a new form of dictatorship. “They are dreaming of a new leadership born from chaos and violence,” he said. “But any dream of seizing power without elections will never be fulfilled on this country’s soil.”

He also honored Parvez as a fearless fighter of the July Movement, reinforcing calls for justice and a fair trial for the perpetrators.

Other speakers included:

Zahidul Alam Zahid, General Secretary of Khagrachhari District Chhatra Dal

Bappi Majumder, Senior Vice President

Ujjwal Kanti Dey and Bachchu Ahmed, Vice Presidents

Anisul Alam Anik, Joint Secretary

Ekram Hossain Rana, Organizing Secretary

Participants vowed to continue their movement until justice is served and democratic values are restored.
