Habiganj, Dec 08 (V7N) – Police have recovered the hanging body of a teenage boy three days after he went missing in Madhabpur upazila of Habiganj. The body of Al-Amin, 16, was found on Sunday morning in a bamboo grove near the bank of Goaila Dighi in the Chatiain area.
The deceased was the son of Masuk Mia from Chatiain village.
According to locals, residents noticed the body hanging from a bamboo pole and immediately informed police. Officers from Chatiain Investigation Centre arrived at the scene, recovered the body, and sent it to Habiganj Modern District Hospital for autopsy.
Family members said Al-Amin left home in anger on Friday after insisting that he be allowed to buy a mobile phone. He did not return afterward. His death has cast a deep pall of grief over the family.
Mohammad Nannu Mia, in-charge of Chatiain Investigation Centre, said they reached the location promptly after receiving the call. “At first glance, it appears to be a case of suicide, but we are investigating all angles. The exact cause will be confirmed after the autopsy report,” he added.
