Rajshahi, Dec 11 (V7N) – A meeting of the government-appointed committee, formed under Section 25(Ka)(2) of the Local Government (City Corporation) Amendment Ordinance 2024, was held to ensure the smooth functioning of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC). The committee’s 8th meeting took place on Wednesday afternoon at the Sarit Dutta Gupta Conference Room of the RCC headquarters, chaired by Dr. A.N.M. Bazlur Rashid, Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner and Administrator of the City Corporation. During the meeting, the administrator instructed officials to perform their responsibilities with full diligence to ensure uninterrupted civic services.

The meeting reviewed and confirmed the decisions taken during the committee’s 7th session held on 13 November 2025. It also discussed the restoration work required for roads damaged during the installation of distribution pipelines under the Rajshahi WASA surface water treatment plant project. Other agenda items included the City Corporation’s scholarship program for underprivileged meritorious students, the design and technical specifications for standard three-wheeler battery-powered rickshaws (e-rickshaws), and the approval of proposals raised by various standing committees.

The committee examined and approved proposals from the Standing Committee on Urban Infrastructure Construction and Maintenance (meeting held on 22 July 2025), the Standing Committee on Birth and Death Registration Management (meetings held on 29 June, 30 July, and 30 September 2025), and the Standing Committee on Education, Health, Family Planning and Public Health.

The meeting was attended by RCC Chief Executive Officer Md. Rezaul Karim, ward councillors, Local Government Deputy Director Md. Zakiul Islam, Deputy Director of Primary Education Md. Sanaullah, Rajshahi Development Authority CEO Md. Moshiur Rahman, Additional Deputy Police Commissioner of RMP (Shah Makhdum Zone) Sabina Yasmin, NESCO Superintendent Engineer Md. Mahbubul Alam Chowdhury, LGED Superintendent Engineer Md. Shahadat Hossain, PWD representative and Assistant Engineer Saiduzzaman, Deputy Director (acting) Dr. Rozi Ara Khatun from the Divisional Health Office, Public Health Engineering representative Dr. Tarun Bandopadhyay, Roads and Highways representative and Executive Engineer Md. Saiful Islam, RCC Superintendent Engineer Ahmad Al-Muin Parag, Chief Revenue Officer Abu Saleh Md. Nur-E-Saeed, Budget and Accounts Officer Shafiqul Islam Khan, Chief Health Officer Dr. F.A.M. Anjuman Ara Begum, and officials from relevant departments and sections.
