A tragic incident unfolded along the Kasba border of Brahmanbaria on Monday morning as a 26-year-old Bangladeshi youth, identified as Hasan Miah from Kaiumpur village in Kasba upazila, was allegedly shot dead by members of the Indian Border Security Force (BSF).

Confirming the incident, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Battalion-60 Commander Lt Col Jaber Bin Jabbar stated that an investigation into the matter is underway, with further details to be provided later.

According to local sources, the shooting occurred while Hasan was transporting sacks of sugar near the border. The Kasba police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Raju Ahmed reported that Hasan's body was recovered and transferred to Kasba Upazila Health Complex, where he was pronounced dead by medical professionals.

The body is slated to undergo autopsy at the Brahmanbaria General Hospital morgue. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
