As Cyclone Rimal advances, Cox's Bazar city has begun to experience drizzle and rising sea levels by midday. The high tide is causing flooding in the city's low-lying areas. Residents of these areas, such as Samiti Para, are now seeking shelter.

One evacuee, Zainal Abedin, over sixty years old, has brought his four goats from Nazirartek to the shelter. He said that his home was flooded, prompting him to move to safety with his animals.

By 2 PM, several families had found refuge at the Pour Preparatory High School shelter. Families from Samiti Para, Nazirartek, and Basinna Para have reported that their homes are underwater.

Arfa Begum, another evacuee, mentioned that she had been at the shelter since noon. However, as of 2 PM, no food provisions had been made available. Additionally, individuals who make a living by renting horses at the beach have also taken refuge, bringing their horses along. Mohammad Shukkur, one such individual, reported that the low-lying areas of Ward 1 in Samiti Para were flooded, and they are now staying at the shelter with four horses.

In response to the cyclone, the Cox's Bazar district administration has outlined its preparedness measures. District Commissioner Muhammad Shahin Imran stated that 10,800 volunteers, including 8,600 from CPP and 2,200 from Red Crescent, are ready to respond. A total of 638 shelters have been prepared. Additionally, a control room has been established at the district commissioner's office.
