Rangpur’s famous Haribhanga mangoes are now being exported to Germany, with plans for further international expansion.

Green Global Agro Limited, based in Dhaka, shipped one ton of Haribhanga mangoes to Germany on Thursday. Company owner Kawsar Ahmed noted previous exports to Middle Eastern countries and increasing demand in Germany.

Since Haribhanga mangoes hit local markets on June 20, demand has surged, with 300 to 400 trucks transporting mangoes daily to different districts.

High demand has led to rising prices, with the Padaganj Hat area seeing a bustling market of one and a half kilometers daily.

Traders are also negotiating exports to UAE, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, and Brunei, with potential exports reaching Tk100 crore by early July.

Riaz Uddin, deputy director of the Rangpur Department of Agricultural Extension, highlighted the significant economic contribution of Haribhanga mangoes and expressed optimism about exceeding export targets.
