Tangail, July 7 (V7N)- The overall flood situation in Tangail district is gradually becoming severe. The intense flow of water from upstream floods and rainfall is causing riverside areas’ rural and semi-urban roads to break. The broken roads are allowing river water to rapidly enter the localities, submerging homes, markets, agricultural fields, and vast regions. Meanwhile, the local administration has stepped in to assist the flood-affected people.

According to the Tangail Water Development Board's information as of 9 AM on Sunday (July 7), the water levels of all rivers in the district have risen in the past 24 hours. The water level of the Jhinai River is flowing 100 centimeters above the danger mark, the Brahmaputra-Jamuna River 36 centimeters above the danger mark, and the Dhaleshwari River 19 centimeters above the danger mark.

In the last 24 hours, the water level of the Jhinai River at Jokarchar point increased by 8 centimeters, the Brahmaputra-Jamuna River at Porabari point by 24 centimeters, the Dhaleshwari River at Elasin point by 13 centimeters, the Fatikjani River at Nalchapa Bridge point by 6 centimeters, the Banshai River at Kauljani point by 7 centimeters, at Mirzapur point by 13 centimeters, and at Madhupur point by 15 centimeters.
