Patuakhali, Aug 24 (V7N) - The Payra Port Authority has extended food assistance to 700 families affected by the floods. On Saturday morning, 700 packets of food, containing various dry goods, were dispatched to the naval jetty in Dhaka. Each packet includes biscuits, puffed rice, water, and medicines. These supplies will be distributed in the flood-affected areas of Feni and Pashuramp by a Navy contingent assigned for this purpose.

Furthermore, the Payra Port Authority has formed a five-member committee, led by Mehedi Hasan, a marine pilot, to oversee the distribution and coordinate with the Ministry. The committee has already commenced its activities. The Payra Port Authority has also assured that its officers and employees will soon donate an amount equivalent to one day's salary each to the appropriate fund through the Ministry, as part of their humanitarian support for the severely affected flood victims.
