Rangamati, Sep 01 (V7N) - Following the removal of the autocratic government through a strong movement by the student and general public, some overly enthusiastic party members have disregarded party directives. They have been exploiting their party positions to threaten businesses, government and private offices, and contractors, engaging in extortion and other misconduct.

In Kaukhali, Rangamati, after expelling two individuals for violating party discipline, the Rangamati District BNP has expelled another leader from the Kaptai Upazila BNP on September 1, Sunday afternoon.

According to the expulsion notice signed by Rangamati District BNP President Dipon Talukdar Dipu and Advocate Mamunur Rashid Mamun, Mohammad Nurul Alam, a member of Kaptai Upazila BNP, has been involved in activities that harm the party’s reputation. He has used his party position to create fear and extort money from businesses and the public.

Despite repeated warnings from both the central and Rangamati district BNP to avoid such misconduct, he continued these anti-party activities.

As a result, due to his actions being contrary to the party’s constitution and discipline, he has been expelled from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and removed from all party positions at every level, effective immediately from today.

In response to inquiries, Advocate Mamunur Rashid Mamun, General Secretary of Rangamati District BNP, stated that the party will not tolerate any form of disorder. The party high command has directed that any complaints against members will result in the immediate cancellation of their primary membership and expulsion without any further notice, which has been confirmed by the Rangamati District BNP.
