Mongla, Sep 07 (V7N) - A meeting aimed at fostering communal harmony was held in Mongla, with a focus on building a society free from discrimination. The event, which took place on Saturday afternoon on Shamsur Rahman Road, was chaired by prominent social worker Sardar Abdul Hannan. Mohammad Moniruzzaman, a Supreme Court lawyer and Assistant Secretary General of the Human Rights Support Society, was the chief guest.
During the meeting, various speakers—including political leaders, journalists, students, teachers, and labor representatives—pledged to unite in their efforts to eliminate discrimination and raise social awareness. The gathering attracted a significant number of local residents from different professions.
In his speech, Mohammad Moniruzzaman outlined the Human Rights Support Society's commitment to tackling drug abuse, supporting students in their educational and athletic endeavors, and combating injustice. He also announced plans to offer scholarships to underprivileged students and to establish a library. He assured that the organization will take all necessary steps for societal development.
