Godagari, Feb 10, (V7N) – An art competition and award ceremony were organized in Godagari, Rajshahi, to celebrate International Mother Language Day. The event took place at the Sultan Ganj High School grounds at 9:30 AM on Sunday, hosted by the social organization "Amader Sultan Ganj."
Over 300 students from 20 primary schools in the Upazila participated in the event. The children, with their vibrant strokes of paint, illustrated scenes like the Shaheed Minar, portraits of martyrs Rafiq and Jabbar holding placards, and beautiful rural landscapes. It was a joyful celebration for the young participants.
Awards were presented to the top 15 winners from classes one to five, including trophies, color pencils, and fruit tree saplings for everyone. The awards were handed out by the Headmaster of Sultan Ganj High School, Sadikul Islam, along with the main sponsors of "Amader Sultan Ganj," Shafiul Haque, Aminul Masum, and Muklesur Rahman Mukul.
Shafiul Haque, founder member of the social organization, shared, “To combat climate change, tree plantation is essential. We want our young future generation to grow up with a sense of environmental awareness. This is why we are gifting fruit tree saplings to all the winners.”
Excited children were joined by many parents and teachers at the event. One parent, Khalekuzzaman, said, “I’m very happy to bring my child here. Children from different schools in Godagari have come, and through this competition, they will understand their strengths. We hope there are more such competitions for students in the future.”
Event organizer, Akhtaruzzaman Romen, expressed his gratitude, saying, “Our team visited nearly 20 primary schools in Godagari. We received an overwhelming response from students, parents, and teachers. Our goal is to help nurture children’s hidden talents, and this event has been a success thanks to the efforts of the youth of Sultan Ganj.”
Looking forward, the organization plans to organize more enriching activities. Under the slogan “For the development of a prosperous society,” this group aims to create a healthy cultural and competitive environment within the community. Over the past few months, they have organized quiz competitions, essay writing contests, and Quran recitation competitions.
