Dhaka, Aug 30 (V7N) – Teachers from various districts gathered at the Central Shaheed Minar in Dhaka on Saturday for a mass rally organized by the Primary Assistant Teachers' Unity Council. The rally aimed to press for three key demands regarding the rights and benefits of primary school teachers.

The demonstrators, representing numerous districts, came together in a show of solidarity to voice their concerns. The three primary demands raised during the event include improved pay scales, better working conditions, and the resolution of long-standing issues related to promotions and job security.

The rally began in the morning, with a significant number of teachers participating, despite the scorching heat. Speeches were delivered by prominent leaders from the council, urging the government to address the demands of the teachers. Several teachers shared their personal stories, expressing frustration over the lack of attention to their professional needs.

The primary objective of the rally was to urge the government to implement reforms that would improve the quality of education by ensuring better compensation and job security for primary teachers. Many teachers highlighted that they are underpaid compared to their counterparts in other sectors, which has led to dissatisfaction and low morale among the teaching staff.

In addition to the pay and job security demands, the rally also called for the establishment of a clear and transparent promotion system that would ensure teachers are rewarded for their hard work and dedication.

The event ended with a pledge by the teachers to continue their fight until their demands are met. Organizers have promised to escalate their efforts and hold more rallies and protests in the coming months if no concrete steps are taken by the government.

The rally received attention from various political leaders and civil society groups, who expressed solidarity with the teachers' cause. They emphasized the importance of investing in education, as teachers play a critical role in shaping the future of the nation.
