Dhaka, Sep 23 (V7N) – Abidul Islam Khan, the defeated Vice President candidate of the Chhatra Dal-backed panel, has alleged delays by the Dhaka University administration and the Election Commission (EC) in investigating and disclosing irregularities in the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) elections.
Abidul, accompanied by Umama Fatima, VP candidate of the Independent Students’ Unity Panel, and Abdul Quader, VP candidate of the Anti-Discrimination Students’ Union Panel, visited the Vice-Chancellor’s office on Tuesday afternoon to seek updates on the investigation.
In a briefing, Abidul Islam Khan said that a written complaint has already been submitted to the EC, but the commission has not addressed the ballots found on the ground floor of Gausul Azam Supermarket. He emphasized that the administration must investigate who printed these ballots and share the findings publicly.
Umama Fatima added that the administration has yet to provide answers regarding the ballots and raised concerns about voter turnout discrepancies at SM Hall and Zahurul Haque Hall.
The candidates warned that unresolved irregularities could undermine trust in the election process and urged immediate transparency.
