Rajshahi, Oct 8 (V7N) – As the Rajshahi University Central Students’ Union (RUCSU) election draws near, candidates are ramping up their campaigns with new strategies to attract voters and secure support across the campus.
On Wednesday morning, October 8, several candidates began their day’s campaign from the university’s Transport Market area. Among them were Sheikh Nur Uddin Abir, vice-president (VP) candidate backed by the Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (BNP’s student wing), and Mostakur Rahman Jahid, VP candidate representing Islami Chhatra Shibir. Independent candidates have also become increasingly active, adopting innovative campaigning approaches to reach out to students. All candidates have expressed their hopes for a fair, peaceful, and credible election process. Meanwhile, general students have voiced their desire for a calm and violence-free voting environment.
According to the university election committee, voting for the RUCSU election is scheduled to be held on October 16. A total of 28,901 students are eligible to vote.
