Dhaka, Nov 23 (V7N) – A clash broke out between two groups of students on Saturday night at the Alia Madrasa hall in Bakshibazar, Old Dhaka. Police from Chawkbazar Police Station later arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control.

Several students were injured during the confrontation and received treatment at the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Mahfuzar Rahman, Assistant Commissioner of the Chawkbazar Police Zone, told reporters around midnight that the fight erupted among students after evening hours. “The situation is calm now. However, the cause of the conflict has not yet been identified,” he said.

Inspector Md Faruk, in charge of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital police outpost, confirmed that until 11 pm, four injured students from Alia Madrasa had been given emergency medical care.

The incident has raised concerns about security and discipline inside residential halls, though authorities say they are investigating the cause of the altercation.
