Five teachers from public universities in Bangladesh will have the opportunity to pursue PhDs each year under a new fellowship program at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

The fellowship costs will be jointly covered by the Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC) and McGill University, according to a press release issued today.

UGC and McGill University recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish an international joint PhD fellowship program, the release stated.

Under the MoU, McGill-UGC fellows will receive approximately 25,900 Canadian dollars annually from UGC to cover health and living insurance, food, accommodation, and salary assistance.

Additionally, UGC will cover the cost of round-trip airfare for each fellow. McGill University will bear the annual cost of approximately 20,214 Canadian dollars per student for full tuition fees and ancillary costs.
