Cox's Bazar, June 28 (V7N)- This year, the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent exams will start on Sunday, June 30 in Cox's Bazar.

In Cox's Bazar district, 16,698 students will sit for the exams at 35 centers. Among them, 13,728 are HSC candidates, 1,966 are Alim candidates, and 1,004 are Vocational candidates.

According to the Education and ICT office of the Cox's Bazar District Administration, there are 18 centers for HSC exams, 9 centers for Alim exams, and 8 centers for BM/Vocational exams. The number of candidates per center are as follows:

  • Ukhiya Nurul Islam B.M. Technical School and College: 82 students
  • Maheshkhali Alamgir Farid Technical and Management College: 84 students
  • Ukhiya College: 157 students
  • Pekua Shaheed Zia BM College: 148 students
  • Kutubdia Technical and BM College: 60 students

Additional Deputy Commissioner for Education and ICT, Tapati Chakma, informed TTN that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure the exams are conducted smoothly and securely at the 35 centers. Executive magistrates will be present at each center, and law enforcement personnel will be deployed. Section 144 will be enforced around the centers.

According to the revised curriculum for 2024, the exams will be held with full marks and full duration for all subjects. Due to the flood situation, the HSC and equivalent exams in the Sylhet division will not start on this day. According to the schedule, the exams will start on June 30 with the first paper of Bengali (Compulsory) and Alim with the Quran. Each exam will start at 10:00 AM and end at 1:00 PM. Some exams will be held from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The written exams will conclude on August 11.
