Dhaka, August 11 – Parents and students of Vikarunnisa Noon School and College have launched a movement calling for the immediate resignation of Principal Keka Roy Chowdhury, citing allegations of corruption and threats against students involved in the quota reform movement. They also demanded the resignation of Senior Physics Teacher Farhana Khanam and the entire governing body of the institution.

On Sunday, hundreds of students gathered in front of the school’s main campus on Bailey Road at 10 a.m., echoing the demands made during a similar protest and human chain formed last Thursday. The students alleged that Principal Chowdhury threatened to expel those who participated in the quota reform movement and accused him of corruption.

Muhtamim Zareen, a representative of the protesting students, stated that due to these threats and allegations of internal corruption, Principal Chowdhury, Professor Farhana Khanam, and Assistant Principal Prabhati Sangeeta Mahzabin Imam should resign within the next 24 hours. They also called for the dissolution of the governing body.

Despite multiple attempts to contact Principal Chowdhury, he did not respond to calls. Reports indicate that he has been absent from the office in recent days. In a response to the protests, Chowdhury stated that the allegations are false and challenged the students to provide proof of their claims. He expressed a willingness to resign if the accusations were substantiated, but also suggested that if the students wanted him to leave, he was prepared to make that sacrifice.
