Los Angeles, Nov 04, (V7N) — Kim Kardashian turned heads at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s 13th annual Art+Film Gala on Saturday night, making a bold fashion statement by wearing a remarkable cross pendant once donned by Princess Diana. The reality star, 44, purchased the stunning piece—crafted in the 1920s and adorned with square-cut amethysts—for a staggering $197,453 at auction last year.

The pendant holds historical significance, having been famously worn by the late Princess of Wales at a charity gala in 1987. According to a statement from Sotheby’s, where the pendant was auctioned, it was “only ever worn by the Princess” and had not been seen publicly since her passing.

Kristian Spofforth, head of jewelry at Sotheby’s London, noted that the pendant symbolizes Diana’s evolving confidence in her fashion choices during that era.

Kardashian elegantly paired the pendant with a custom white Gucci dress, complemented by a Tallarico pearl choker and a Bvlgari pearl and diamond necklace, creating a sophisticated and memorable look.

The Skims founder has a history of making headlines with her red carpet choices. In 2022, she captured attention at the Met Gala in the iconic dress worn by Marilyn Monroe when she sang "Happy Birthday" to John F. Kennedy. Despite concerns over the garment's condition, Ripley’s Believe It or Not! confirmed it was returned undamaged.

The LACMA gala also welcomed other stars, including Blake Lively and Viola Davis, honoring artist Simone Leigh and director Baz Luhrmann, with a lively performance by Charli XCX rounding out the evening.
