Mumbai, (12 June 2024) – UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has spoken out against the recent terrorist attack on pilgrims in Reasi, Jammu and Kashmir. Expressing her dismay and concern, Chopra took to social media to denounce the heinous act of violence.

In a story shared on her Instagram account, the actress questioned the senseless targeting of innocent pilgrims, particularly children. She wrote, "I am devastated. Heinous attacks on innocent pilgrims. Why this attack on ordinary people and children? The way hatred is spreading all over the world is beyond my understanding."

Chopra's poignant statement reflects her ongoing commitment to speaking out against terrorism and advocating for peace. The actress has a history of using her platform to address global issues, having previously voiced her support for various causes, including Palestine and the plight of refugee children during conflicts such as the Russia-Ukraine war.

The attack in Reasi occurred when a bus carrying pilgrims to the Vaishno Devi temple in Katra was ambushed by militants. The incident resulted in the tragic loss of 10 lives and left more than 30 individuals injured. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has launched an investigation into the attack, with initial suspicions pointing towards Pakistan-backed militant groups as perpetrators.
