On Friday morning, residents in Teknaf Upazila have been hearing the sound of large mortar shells along the borders of Hnila, Sabrang, and Saint Martin.

Lt. Colonel Md. Mohiuddin Ahmed, captain of Teknaf-2 BGB, stated: "We have heard of intense shelling along the Myanmar border. Along the border, including Shahpari Island and St. Martin in Teknaf, we have stepped up monitoring and patrols.
