Dhaka, Mar 28 (V7N) – Former Bangladesh national cricket team captain Tamim Iqbal has been discharged from Evercare Hospital four days after undergoing a heart procedure to insert a stent (heart ring). While his condition is stable, doctors have advised him to take extended rest and follow medical guidelines strictly.

Tamim left the hospital on Friday (March 28) afternoon and returned home, where he will continue his recovery.

Dr. Arif Mahmud, a cardiologist at Evercare Hospital, reassured the media about Tamim's improved health, stating:
"Tamim is doing well. He is eating, drinking, and talking normally. He was shifted from the CCU to his room and kept under observation for a couple of days before being discharged."

However, doctors have not yet confirmed whether Tamim will be able to resume professional cricket. His return to the field will depend on how well he recovers over the coming months.

Tamim suffered a health scare on March 24 while playing a Dhaka Premier League (DPL) match at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP). He felt unwell while fielding, took a short break, and attempted to continue playing. However, his condition worsened, prompting urgent hospitalization.

Tests confirmed that Tamim had suffered a heart attack, and a stent was inserted the same day to restore normal blood flow.

Tamim will need long-term rest and regular medical check-ups before any decision can be made about his cricketing future. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is expected to monitor his condition closely in the coming weeks.
