DHAKA, March 29, (V7N) – Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus returned to Bangladesh tonight, concluding his four-day official visit to China.

A commercial Air China flight carrying Prof Yunus and his delegation landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 8:10 pm (Bangladesh Standard Time), after departing from Beijing Capital International Airport at 4:57 pm (Beijing time).

Chinese Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs and Chief Protocol Officer of President Xi Jinping, Hong Lei, bid farewell to Prof Yunus at Beijing airport, marking the end of the historic visit.

During his stay, Prof Yunus participated in the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference on March 27 in Hainan, where he attended several side events. On March 28, he held high-level bilateral talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing.

He also took part in three key roundtable discussions focusing on Sustainable Infrastructure and Energy Investment, Bangladesh 2.0 Manufacturing and Market Opportunities, and Social Business and Youth Entrepreneurship.

On March 29, Prof Yunus was awarded an honorary doctorate from Peking University, where he also delivered a lecture.

The Chief Adviser had arrived in China on March 26, engaging in a series of diplomatic and economic engagements aimed at strengthening Bangladesh-China relations.
