Riyadh, March 29, 2025 (V7N) — Saudi Arabia has officially declared that Eid Al-Fitr will be celebrated on Sunday, following the confirmed sighting of the Shawwal crescent moon on Saturday evening.

The moon-sighting committee convened after Maghrib prayers and verified the new moon's visibility, marking the end of Ramadan after 29 days of fasting, in line with Islamic lunar traditions.

A statement from the Royal Court is expected to formally announce that Saturday will be the final day of Ramadan, with Eid celebrations commencing the following day.

Eid prayers will take place early Sunday morning across 15,948 mosques and 3,939 open-air prayer grounds throughout the Kingdom, as families gather to mark one of Islam’s most significant and joyous occasions.

Meanwhile, in Bangladesh, the main Eid congregation will be held at the National Eidgah at 8:30 AM, bringing together thousands of worshippers for the special prayers.
