DHAKA, May 16 (V7N) – BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has expressed his deep sorrow and shock at the passing of his school-friend and valiant freedom fighter, Md Abdul Gofran.

In a condolence message, the BNP secretary general acknowledged Md Abdul Gofran's dedication to spreading knowledge and fostering cultural awareness, emphasizing that his contributions would be forever remembered with respect in Thakurgaon.

Md Abdul Gofran, widely known as Gofran Sir in Thakurgaon, passed away on May 14th at the Bangladesh Medical University while receiving treatment. He was 73 years old.

Gofran was a founding general secretary of the Thakurgaon district Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal and served as the Head Master of Riverview High School in Thakurgaon for an extended period.
