BRAHMANBARIA, MAY 25 (V7N) – Two Bangladeshi youths were reportedly injured by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) firing along the Kasba border in Brahmanbaria early Sunday morning.

The injured individuals have been identified as Md Robiul Islam (28) and Md Azad Hossain (26), both residents of the Shyampur frontier area of the upazila. They are currently receiving treatment at a local hospital.According to sources, six youths intruded into Indian territory through the Khadla border around 1:30 AM. BSF personnel reportedly opened fire after detecting their presence, injuring two of them. Their companions then rescued them and transported them to a local hospital.

Locals indicate that smuggling activities, particularly of cattle, spices, cosmetics, and fireworks, typically escalate ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, and the area is known for such illicit trade.

Lieutenant Colonel Ziaur Rahman, commandant of the BGB-60 Battalion, stated that they are aware of the incident and are currently gathering information.
