Dhaka, Dec 29 (V7N) — Inqilab Manch has announced that it will not field any candidate from Dhaka-8 in sympathy for the late Shaheed Osman Hadi. The organization also reaffirmed that it will never be used as a pawn by the government.
The announcement came on Monday afternoon when leaders and activists of the Inqilab Manch gathered at Shahbagh intersection to demand the speedy arrest and trial of Hadi’s killers. During the protest, traffic at Shahbagh was temporarily halted, but diversions were arranged to minimize inconvenience for commuters.
Speaking at the gathering, Abdullah Al Jaber, member secretary of the organization, emphasized that the fight for justice is a responsibility for all political parties and citizens, and urged parties including Jamaat, BNP, and others to express solidarity in the movement.
He criticized the government, noting that many accused in past incidents had been granted bail, and condemned the legal advisor for failing to act appropriately. Abdullah Al Jaber also stressed that no candidate should seek votes by exploiting Hadi’s name, saying, “Hadi cannot be used just to come to power. No one can enter parliament as a neo-Hadi supporter. The fight for justice will continue even after Hadi’s death.”
The Inqilab Manch protest reflects ongoing public concern over the murder case of Shaheed Osman Hadi and demands for accountability.
