Dhaka, Sep 25 (V7N) – BNP's Acting Chairman, Tariq Rahman, has expressed deep concern over what he described as the escalating acts of violence and terrorism following the recent student movement, which led to the fall of the Awami League's rule. His comments come in response to the killing of Lt. Tanzim Sarowar in Cox's Bazar, a tragedy that he fears signals further instability in the country.

In a statement posted on his verified Facebook page, Tariq Rahman condemned the brutal killing of Lt. Tanzim Sarowar, who was attacked while on duty during an anti-robbery operation in Cox's Bazar. Rahman described the act as a targeted strike by "conspiratorial miscreants" intent on destabilising the interim government.

"The killing of this young army officer reveals the intent of these miscreants," Rahman wrote, urging for firm action to prevent the safety of the public from being further jeopardised. He warned that failure to act decisively against such criminals could result in widespread insecurity.

Rahman also suggested that the perpetrators are attempting to gain political and economic benefits by creating chaos and instability in the country. He called for unity across all sectors of society to combat these threats and ensure the restoration of peace, security, and democracy.

The incident in question occurred on Monday night in East Maijpara village, Dulahazara Union, where Lt. Tanzim Sarowar was killed during an anti-robbery operation. His death has drawn widespread condemnation and raised concerns about the growing lawlessness in certain areas.
