Dhaka, Dec 07 (V7N) — BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi accused India of using the ruling Awami League and its leader Sheikh Hasina to safeguard its own interests. He claimed Indian media and politicians are creating unrest in Bangladesh, particularly through the activities of ISKCON, to shield Sheikh Hasina from accountability.

Rizvi made these remarks on Saturday morning after visiting injured victims of the recent student uprising at the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute in Dhaka. He criticised the alleged repression of students and citizens, accusing the government of shedding blood to preserve Sheikh Hasina's rule.

"It's impossible to grasp the extent of the atrocities committed to protect Sheikh Hasina without visiting the hospital. Those who support her and participate in conspiracies should witness this," Rizvi said.

He also alleged that Hindu houses in Bangladesh are being targeted under false pretences, adding, "They are fueling flames of jealousy and revenge. The people of Bangladesh have no value to them. They are conspiring with Sheikh Hasina to fulfill their own agendas."

Rizvi criticised attacks on the High Commission, claiming they were part of a larger plan to appease Sheikh Hasina and silence dissenting voices. His comments come amidst escalating political tension and student protests across the country.

The BNP leader reaffirmed his party’s stance against what he described as a regime that prioritises foreign interests over the well-being of Bangladeshi citizens.
