Dhaka, Dec 10 (V7N)- BNP Standing Committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy has reiterated the party’s stance against external interference in Bangladesh’s internal affairs, advocating for equal and mutually beneficial relations with India.
While paying tribute to former Jubo Dal leader and BNP executive committee member Mohiuddin Ahmed Jintu at the tomb of former president and party founder Ziaur Rahman in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Roy spoke to reporters about Bangladesh’s political and diplomatic priorities.
On Equal Relations
Roy stated, “India-Bangladesh relations will be of equal status, ensuring benefits for both nations.” He emphasized that BNP seeks friendship with all nations but expects neighboring countries to prioritize relations with the people of Bangladesh rather than specific parties or individuals.
Call for Democracy
Addressing domestic issues, Roy asserted that lasting solutions require the restoration of democracy in Bangladesh. “Problems cannot be solved by the departure of one individual. Domestic and foreign conspiracies can only be tackled through the establishment of democracy,” he said.
Roy’s comments reflect BNP’s commitment to fostering balanced international relations while addressing internal challenges through democratic governance. The party’s emphasis on equal partnerships signals its intent to strengthen Bangladesh’s sovereignty and engage constructively with global allies.
