Dhaka, Jan 05 (V7N) — SA Khaleque, the former vice-president of the undivided Dhaka Metropolitan BNP and a former Member of Parliament from the Dhaka-11 (currently Dhaka-14) constituency, passed away on Sunday. He was 80 years old.
Khaleque breathed his last at around 3:30 pm at United Hospital in the capital, BNP media cell member Shairul Kabir Khan confirmed to the press.
The funeral prayers (namaz-e-janaza) for the late BNP leader will be held on Monday, January 6. The first janaza will take place at 12 noon in front of the BNP central office in Nayapaltan, and the second at 2 pm on the premises of Mirpur Bangla College. He will be laid to rest in the family graveyard of Mirpur Shahi Mosque in Gabtoli.
SA Khaleque was a prominent figure in Dhaka's political landscape and played a significant role in BNP's activities during his tenure. His passing marks the end of an era for many within the party and beyond.
Leaders, activists, and well-wishers from across the political spectrum have expressed their condolences to the family and paid tribute to his contributions to the nation.
