Dhaka, Jan 11 (V7N) — BNP Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan has remarked that a struggle over credit for the July Revolution is currently unfolding. Speaking as the chief guest at a memorial service for the late Hannan Ahmed Khan Bablu at the National Press Club on Saturday afternoon, he highlighted the ongoing phase of the fight against tyranny.

Nazrul Islam Khan stated, “The fight that began over a decade and a half ago has now transformed into a singular phase. The same reasons that drove the mass uprising of 1969, the liberation war of 1971, and the 1990 mass uprising are at the heart of the one-point movement today.”

Reflecting on the aftermath of the revolution, he added, “Within just five months of the July Revolution, we see the emergence of a fight over taking credit for this victory. This reflects a broader struggle over the true essence of the revolution.”

The BNP leader also noted that the victory achieved by the people has been undermined over time, urging all to unite in preserving the spirit of the movement and continuing the fight for democracy and justice.

The memorial service, attended by party leaders, activists, and supporters, commemorated the contributions of Hannan Ahmed Khan Bablu to the political landscape of Bangladesh.
