London, Jan 13 (V7N) — Former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia's health has shown signs of improvement, according to her personal physician and BNP standing committee member Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain. During a briefing on Sunday, he informed reporters that Khaleda Zia is now able to walk unaided and may undergo some special tests on Monday based on the advice of specialist doctors.
Dr. Enamul Haque, an advisor to the BNP Chairperson, noted that doctors at the London Clinic commended the treatment Khaleda Zia received in Bangladesh, describing it as of "international standard."
On Sunday, Khaleda Zia was seen by Professor John Patrick Kennedy, a specialist at The Clinic in London, where she is currently receiving treatment. Her condition is reportedly stable, and she also underwent physiotherapy as part of her recovery regimen.
BNP's acting chairman Tarique Rahman and his wife, Dr. Zubaida Rahman, visited Khaleda Zia on Sunday, continuing their daily routine of checking on her progress.
Khaleda Zia arrived in London on January 8 for advanced medical care. Upon arrival, she was taken directly from Heathrow Airport to the specialized private hospital 'The Clinic,' where she has been undergoing routine health check-ups and treatment.
Her health updates have brought relief to her supporters, as the BNP Chairperson continues her journey toward recovery under the care of top specialists.
