Lakshmipur, Feb 22 (V7N) – Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has alleged that daily extortion is ongoing across the country. Addressing extortionists, he said, "Please stop this. If you cannot afford food, tell us, and we will arrange it for you."

He made these remarks while addressing a public rally at Adarsh Samad High School grounds in Lakshmipur on Saturday.

Criticism of Governance

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman strongly criticized corruption and misgovernance, stating that no one can sustain power through oppression. He emphasized that past governments exploited the people while claiming to build "Sonar Bangla." He warned that authoritarian politics often results in leaders fleeing the country.

He further stated, "The nation seeks freedom from misrule. We must move forward with the spirit of the July Revolution."

First Jamaat Public Rally in 28 Years

This public rally marked Jamaat-e-Islami’s first major gathering in Lakshmipur in 28 years. The event was presided over by District Jamaat Ameer Master Ruhul Amin and attended by senior party leaders, including:
